Day 2

It was a new day, Duncan and Courtney were still sleeping since yesterday’s little event. Duncan wakes up and finds that he’s cuddling with Courtney again, “Déjà vu I wonder if she’ll try to pry herself away from me again.” As Courtney wakes up Duncan smiles and says, “Morning Sunshine.” Courtney looks at Duncan, “It’s the camping challenge all over again isn’t it.” Still smiling he says, “Yep so are you going to pry yourself away from me again?” Courtney gives a smug smile and says, “Nope I’m actually enjoying it this time.” Duncan laughs, “You’ve changed in the past day.” As Courtney gets off of Duncan and sits right beside him while messing around with his green hair she says, “I think its because you opened up to me yesterday it just…really changed my thoughts of you.” Duncan getting up looks at her and says, “Everything I said yesterday I meant every word.” She rests her head on his shoulder and says, “I know and I’m happy you said that.” Courtney’s stomach starts growling and her face turns red with embarrassment while Duncan laughs and says, “I’m guessing your hungry. I’ll go get the food.” As he leaves for the tent Courtney tries getting up one more time but it still no use she just can’t seem to get any strength in her foot to move. As Duncan arrives back with the food he gives Courtney her container while sitting beside her and they both start eating. While eating Courtney says with her mouth full, “How long did you say the food will most likely last again?” Duncan swallowing his food looks at Courtney and says, “A few hours before dinner most likely so let’s finish the rest of it by Lunch and than I’ll try to figure something out for dinner.” As they finish eating Courtney lets out a large belch and Duncan just looks at her in amazement and laughs at her, “Nice one.” Courtney a little embarrassed says, “Okay that was so gross. But it was kind of fun.” Duncan just smiles, “Care to try walking now?” Courtney looks at him and tries to get up on her own but it’s no use she can’t get up. As Duncan sees this he gets up and reaches out his hand for Courtney like last time but only this time Courtney actually takes a hold of it. As she holds on tight with both her hands Duncan starts slowly pulling her up carefully. As Duncan pulls Courtney’s face starts wincing in pain as she gets up Duncan stops and says, “Courtney do you want me to put you down?” Courtney looking at how high she is says, “No keep going I’m so close to just standing.” Duncan worried continues pulling her until she is standing completely but Courtney’s foot can’t take it she collapses and Duncan catches her in his arms. Courtney feeling defeated starts crying a little while grabbing Duncan’s shirt tight and hides her face under his chest while Duncan just looks at her he smiles and says, “You tried and that’s all that matters for now isn’t it?” Courtney stills cries even though Duncan is trying to comfort her with some kind words as she continues crying all of a sudden she hears music playing and than…

After hearing Duncan sing for her again she manages to calm down a bit and just rests her head and says, “Thank you.” She passes out from exhaustion and Duncan just smiles at her and says, “You overexerted yourself didn’t you?” He smiles and carries her into the tent and lets her rest. As he gets out the tent he takes his shirt, shoes, and socks off and any of his personal belongings out of his pockets and decides to go for a swim in the lake to relax and wash-off since he reeked like crazy. As he floats aimlessly in the lake he just stares at the sky and says, “I wonder what the others are doing.” Meanwhile back at the cabins all the Killer Bass decide to hangout in the cabins since they have nothing to do until Courtney and Duncan arrive back from the challenge. Harold looking at everyone says, “What are we going to do if they lose the challenge?” Geoff looks at Harold and says, “Don’t worry dude they’ll be fine.” Bridgette looks at Geoff and says, “You have a lot of confidence in them why?” Geoff smiles, “Because Courtney is with Duncan. I know Duncan will be fine because he can handle any situation on his own with ease but I was worried with Courtney being picked because she tries to handle everything herself so if she got into any trouble I knew it would be bad for her if it was anyone other than Duncan.” DJ looks at Geoff and says, “Because Duncan likes Courtney right?” Geoff still smiling, “Likes her is an understatement dude. Duncan will go through any obstacle for Courtney if she was in trouble.” Everyone smiles at how well Geoff understands Duncan so well. Over the P.A. Chris yells, “Okay dudes hit the mess hall its time for lunch.” Their moment is cut short when Chris mentions Chef’s food.

Mean while back in the forest Duncan looks at his watch while still swimming in the water and notices that it’s already 12:30 he decides to swim back to the campsite. As he gets out his body is completely soaked but his hair still manages to keep its original look no matter how wet it gets he takes one of the blankets to use as a towel and dries himself off as he walks back to the tent to check on Courtney. He looks in the tent and notices Courtney isn’t in there as he through the blankets over a branch on the tree to let dry off and starts to panic and search around like crazy for Courtney until he hears footsteps, “Welcome back Duncan.” Duncan turns around and notices that Courtney is finally walking he smiles and rushes for her and holds her tight in his arms and says, “Where were you!? You scared me half to death.” Courtney dropping all the firewood she was carrying says, “Sorry to scare you but I’m back now.” Duncan lets go and puts her down on the ground gently and says, “Its okay. You’re walking again which makes up for it.” Courtney falling to the ground says, “Just barely it still hurts like crazy but at least I can limp now which is a sign that it’s healing.” Duncan just nods his head in agreement, “Its almost 1PM want some lunch?” Courtney nods her head and pulls herself closer to the big tree where the blanket that was wet was hanging. She gets up slowly and takes it off the branch. She grabs three long pieces of wood and impales them into the ground beside the camp fire and rests one really thick branch on top and lights the fire. After she lights it she folds the blanket up enough so that way it doesn’t get burned as it dries over the fire.

As Duncan comes out he gives Courtney her container and Duncan goes to grab his shirt when Courtney says, “Leave your shirt off I want to go swimming with you later.” Duncan stops halfway and turns around while raising his eyebrow, “Excuse me? You want to swim later.”  Courtney nods, “Well alright than after our meal and I dry off a bit we’ll go swimming for a bit and than I’ll go get us some dinner for us to eat alright?” Courtney just nods again since her mouth was full. Duncan walks back to her and sits right beside her as they enjoy a nice relaxing meal by a warm fire and Courtney nests her head on Duncan’s arm. After an hour has passed Courtney takes both empty containers back into the tent and gets changed into her swimsuit while Duncan puts out the fire with some water from one of his water bottles so the blanket doesn’t accidentally get burned while the two of them head swimming. As Courtney comes out and finishes putting her hair into a ponytail she sits on the ground while Duncan unwraps the bandages around her foot and carries her into the lake as the two of them smile at each other. After Duncan reaches a decent depth in the water he lets go of Courtney who manages to swim just fine on her own. She can’t believe how much more freedom she has in the water as she swims it feels like her foot doesn’t even bother one bit. As Courtney swims her foot begins to cramp and she tries to quickly swim back to the surface until she sees Duncan swims after her and grabs her and pulls her up the surface. Duncan holding her arms looks at her and says, “Are you okay?” Courtney looking his bright blue eyes feels so clam and put her hands on his chest while she rest her head on it and says, “I’m fine thanks Duncan you saved me yet again.” Duncan putting his head on top of her says, “It’s nothing I just really don’t want to lose you your really special to me that’s all.” Courtney closing her eyes slowing says, “Could we just stay like this for a while it feels so nice and peaceful.” “I’d like that.” They slowly swim to the shallow area of the lake and just hold that same position for a while. The area of the forest they were in was pretty far from the campsite but wasn’t out of the boundaries of the campsite because if they left it even for a split second they would automatically lose the challenge. The area they were in of the campsite didn’t get much sunlight but something about it made it feel so serene. As Duncan looks at the sky he says, “It’s getting late Princess we should head back for now while I go get us some dinner.” As the two of them swim back Courtney gets out of the lake while Duncan stays in since he was going to hunt for some fish. As Courtney comes back with Duncan’s knife she says, “Be careful okay? You better come back soon because I have something special for you later.” Duncan smiles and says, “I can’t wait to see what it is.” As Duncan back swims out Courtney dries off by the fire and gets changed in the tent and looks at Duncan’s mp3 player for a certain song she wants.

Meanwhile Duncan out to the best area for fish gets out of the lake and waits for them to jump out. As he waits he carefully tunes out every sound around him except for the sound of the lake in front of him soon he hears something jump out of the lake and throws his knife in the direction of where it came from. His knife impales a fish into a tree and he swims to the other side and goes to grab it he looks at it and sees that it’s a decent size and says, “That should do it.” He puts his knife away and grabs three other fish he caught earlier along with the most recent one he got and starts swimming back to the campsite. As Courtney sits there she starts to get a little worried and slowly gets up and starts limping to the lake to wait for Duncan and sees that he’s already back, “I thought I told you to be back soon you had me worried.” Duncan really wet and cold starts shivering a bit and says, “S-S-Sorry the fish d-d-didn’t really want to come out at first but I g-g-got some after. L-L-Let’s go cook them up.” Courtney seeing how cold he is takes the blanket that was recently drying off over the fire and puts it over Duncan and says, “Let’s hurry to the fire otherwise your going to catch a cold. Also I’ll cook the fish you need some rest from all the swimming you just did.” Duncan just nods at Courtney and they both walk slowly back to the fire. As the fish cooks Duncan who is wrapped in two blankets while still wearing his swimsuit says, “So Courtney what was this surprise you wanted to give me. Oh wait a minute something I have to give you.” Duncan gives back Courtney his knife and says, “Think of it as a gift from me.” Courtney puts in her pocket and says, “Thanks now for that surprise I promised I hope you don’t I had to look through this for what I wanted to give you.” She says as she pulls out Duncan’s mp3 player. Duncan confused at first cause he doesn’t know what she means all of a sudden Courtney plays one of Duncan’s songs and starts singing for him while pulling him in close to her to warm him up…

As she sings the last verse Duncan looks at her in the eyes both just stare at each until Courtney pulls herself in for a kiss. As they break Duncan smiles and says, “Courtney that was an awesome surprise.” Courtney smiles while looking away and says, “Thanks Duncan I meant every word in that song I promise that.” Duncan finally having warmed up pulls her in by the waist and says, “I know.” After they eat there was a beautiful full moon out in the sky they decide not to sleep in the tent again and just sleep under the big tree with the blankets covering them while Duncan just wears his swimsuit and Courtney just rests her heads on his chest and Duncan opens one eye and looks at Courtney who is sleepy so soundly says, “Goodnight my Angel.” Duncan kisses her on the forehead and falls asleep.
